Tree-hugger!

A few weeks ago when someone at the Guardian asked if i would post some of my daily drawings in their photo message to the UN on climate change, i agreed and added the ones that related to being, um, for lack of a better term, “green.”

This morning I got a sweet email from Michel in India, who liked one of the drawings and posted it on the blog of a new NGO/NPO there: see the post.

In Michel’s words:
We are a small group of people starting up the Treenitiative as a NGO/NPO campaign to do something good for the planet and to reforest degraded wastelands in India.
You can find more information by visiting: www.treenitiative.org (it’s not complete yet, but happening…)

It is heartwarming to see projects like this, and for me… exciting to see art taking a role in social change.
