i always had a bear with me as a child... his name was "snuffy" and he was a chocolate colored gund bear. i remember leaving him in a store once while my mom was shopping and his absence dawning on me about 3 blocks from our house. the store was closed. i howled all night and refused the comfort of a myriad other stuffies, allowing only the care bears into my bed with me. in the morning, we met the store manager there first thing and i got my bear back.

i still have him, although he doesn't sleep in the bed with me anymore. (phew). but i couldn't part with him. russ can tell you all a story about how i almost threw him away, but i won't deny him the pleasure of telling it by typing it here.

here's to hoping you all had a childhood toy you bonded with!

so, a few (very few) of you have asked about my archives on here. i'm looking into it, apparently there's some drama with the fact that i host my blog on my own server.

well... i've gone and posted images for a few days and forgotten to put them in the blog. sorry.

this was yesterday's drawing... the day i finished the last harry potter book.

people at work think i'm so weird for being as attached to the story as i am and i think they are a little afraid of my grieving process. it's just that i feel like it's the "end of an era"... i loved the books, all of them. i guess the good part is getting to enjoy them as a complete set and re-reading them through the various stages of my life.

plus there are 2 more movies to be made, so that will be fun for a few more years.

i was a busy bee today and still didn't get everything done that was on my list. this is mostly because my lists are usually unrealistic. but i'll try to catch up tomorrow.

i am going to a craft fair this weekend... i'll be a vendor, so i've got to get more sewing done by saturday morning! aaaah!

sometimes i waste time and don't spend it on the things i really care about. i get so wrapped up in all kinds of nothingness that i miss out on the good parts.

there have been times in my life when it came easier, but these days i have to fight off all kinds of distractions (most of which are, in any other context, totally harmless) to feed my soul. at least it feels that way.

we had a bbq with our neighbors today and i loved it! we'd been meaning to get together for like the last YEAR and hang out, but we had never made the time. when we all had no plans for the 4th, we decided to have a grill-out together. it was great food, great conversation and a great evening. and it inspired this drawing.
