orchid and baby plant!

these are my plant babies. there are more, but i took this at night and it was too dark to get all of them in the frame... but this is my orchid and my new sweet basil.

i've never planted seeds before, so i'm anxious to see if it works and they grow.

in other news, things are pretty much the same around here. my allergies have been flaring up horribly and it's made me lazy in my chores and in posting entries. it makes me feel like i have the flu. ugh.

russell's arm is healing well and he can almost open it again. i'm still picking him up from school though, as it will be a few more months before he can ride his bike again.

i haven't made a whole lot of art lately, as i haven't had a lot of free time. i'm sure the next weekend open will be fruitful, but i've just felt creatively tired from work and busy with outside contract work and such. there are still some soft toys and drawings up in the etsy shop. i've been meaning to make a painting for church too, so that will probably be the next thing i do. it will be a sort of communion/altar piece for the table with the elements on it.

can you really quantify how much of a nerd i am?

so the release date for the seventh harry potter installment was made public today: july 21, 2007.

what was my first reaction? thank GOD this is a saturday and i won't have to take a day off of work to read it after i pick it up from the midnight release party. :)
