busy bee

after almost kissing the floor of HEB and eating mexican food at least three times, we're back in miami for another semester. it was great to see everyone, although i'm still sad about the few people we missed. :(

visiting the loft was a gratifying, albeit strange, experience. i still say what i miss most about texas is the people... some of the things there still bewilder me, but the people are of a rare and wonderful sort.... so loving, friendly and real.

in other news, we were up until 3am this morning at the emergency room getting russ all fixed up after he wrecked on his mountain bike. 11 hours of prime-time-worthy drama were all it took to confirm what we already suspected: he broke his right arm. the good news is that it's only a fracture near the elbow and that he won't need a cast. either way, we're going to see another doctor in the morning to get a more definite recovery plan.

so today is all about watching movies from the $1 machine that they finally installed in our grocery store (WOOHOO!) and eating homemade popcorn.

p.s. i just picked up the cutest kids book EVER, which to preclude any questions, we are not pregnant... i just really like the illustrator and the story makes me laugh. so, if you're weird like me and pick up random books for the future, i recommend it, or if you need a baby shower gift, it would be perfect.

Is it one of those Redbox machines? Let me know if it is, I occasionally get coupon codes for free rentals. I don't know if they'll work in your store though.
